Calling the elephant in the room - in a way that can be heard.
We generally know why things are taking twice as long and costing twice as much. But what happens when we raise issues? Do we get told to ‘just do it’, or maybe we get labelled as ‘negative’, we’re ‘hard-work’ to deal with, we ‘make things too complicated’ or we're ‘not a team player’.
In 2017, I spoke at Refactor about my experiences of making impactful change and how I came to learn that "it doesn't matter how right you are, if no-one is listening". Here are the slides and text from that talk.
